ChurnAlpha is an educational calculator. It does arithmetic on assumptions you supply. It doesn't give investment, tax or legal advice, and you're responsible for your own decisions.
These terms govern your use of churnalpha.com and its content and tools (the "Site"), operated by ChurnAlpha, a sole proprietorship based in South Carolina ("we," "us"). By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
1. Not advice
Everything on the Site, including the calculator, its results, case studies and emails, is general educational information. It is not investment, financial, tax, accounting or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or to take any particular action. We are not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, tax preparer, accountant or law firm, and using the Site doesn't create an advisory or professional relationship of any kind.
Results depend entirely on the assumptions you enter, which may be wrong. Future returns are unknown, and tax rules are complex, change over time and depend on your individual circumstances. Before acting, consider consulting a qualified tax or financial professional.
2. Accuracy and simplifications
We work to make the calculations correct, but the models are deliberate simplifications (for example, flat tax rates and a single holding period) and are described on the Site. We don't guarantee that the Site, its calculations or its content are accurate, complete, current or suitable for your situation, or that the Site will be available without interruption or errors.
3. Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for the information you enter, for how you interpret the results, and for any decisions you make. You use the Site at your own risk.
4. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SITE AND EVERYTHING ON IT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
5. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY INVESTMENT LOSSES, TAXES, PENALTIES OR LOST PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON THE SITE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR US $50.
6. Intellectual property
The Site's content, design, code, logo and the ChurnAlpha name belong to us. You may use the Site and share links to it for personal, non-commercial purposes. Please don't copy, resell, scrape or republish substantial parts of the Site or its calculator without our written permission. Short quotations with a link back are welcome.
7. Paid products
If we offer paid products, such as a licensed version of the calculator, any additional terms (including pricing, licensing and refunds) will be presented at the time of purchase and will apply together with these terms.
8. Third-party services and links
The Site uses third-party services (such as Kit for email and Cloudflare for hosting) and may link to other websites. We aren't responsible for third-party services or sites, and their own terms and policies apply.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or the Site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted here with its effective date. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
